The Bronx Bombers, with a 6-1 win over the Devil Rays, set an American League record with their 112th win. The 1906 Cubs, who finished the season with a 116-36 record, are the only team to end a campaign with more victories than the 1998 Yankees.

Shortstop Gary DiSarcina leads Anaheim to a 10 – 6 win over Oakland with five hits, including two doubles, and a pair of RBIs.
