39-year-old Pete Rose steals second base, third, and home in one inning for the Phillies

On May 11, 1980 — At Riverfront Stadium In the top of the seventh inning, against the Cincinnati Reds battery off Mario Soto and Don Werner Philadelphia Phillies’ 39-year-old leadoff batter Pete Rose steals home after swiping second and third base to become the first National League player in 52 years to complete the stolen base cycle in one frame. Rose accomplished the feat in front of his old team and fans, Rose leads the Phillies to a 7-3 win and a 19-11 start to the season. The Phillies are on their way to their first title in franchise history.

In 1928, Brooklyn’s Harvey Hendrick accomplished the feat in the eighth inning of an Ebbets Field contest against Chicago.
