On ,July 31 1924 â 7/31/1924: Kiki Cuyler lost a home run when a game was rained out and the score reverted back to the previous inning. The Pirates were playing in New York when the storm appeared in the third inning. The Giants, behind 5-0 at this point, started stalling to try to prevent the game from becoming official. In the top of the seventh, Cuyler homered into the lower right field seats off Jack Bentley. However, the game was called after a 30-minute rain delay in the bottom of the frame and the seventh inning was wiped off the books.
