On April 16, 1935, With the band playing Jingle Bells at Boston’s Braves Field on a snowy day with near-freezing temperatures Babe Ruth makes his National League debut for the Boston Braves.Ā  ā€œThe Babeā€ belts out two hits, including a 430-foot home run against Carl Hubbell. Ruthā€™s first NL game draws 25,000 fans, the largest Opening Day crowd in Braves history.
