On April 10, 1982 — A crowd of 62,443 fans show up with the game-time temperature 38 degrees with a wind chill of 17 to see the Cleveland Indians drop the season opener to the Texas Rangers, 8 – 3. Five hundred tons of snow had to be removed from the Cleveland Stadium field prior to the game.
