On October 25, 1956 — Al Lopez replaces Marty Marion, who recently resigned as the manager of the White Sox. Chicago’s new skipper will pilot the Pale Hose to an 840-650 (.564) record and an American League pennant during his 11-year tenure in the Windy City.
