On July 10, 1954 Andre Dawson – “The Hawk” – is born in Miami, FL. A graceful centerfielder with the Montreal Expos who will become a slugging rightfielder and owner of one of the most powerful throwing arms in baseball with the Chicago Cubs, Dawson will win the 1987 National League Most Valuable Player Award with the Cubs and gain election to the Hall of Fame in 2010.
