Mets outfielder Benny Agbayani catches what he thinks is the third out and gives the ball to a kid in the stands

On August 12, 2000 — At Shea Stadium, the San Francisco Giants get two unusual runs in the fourth inning as the Mets outfielder Benny Agbayani catches Bobby Estalella fly ball for what he thinks is the third out and gives the ball to a 7 year old boy in the stands. At the time the bases were loaded and the mental lapse of not knowing there was only one out in the frame allows two runners on base to score, and leaves a man on third whit 2 outs. But the Mets will prevail, beating San Francisco, 3-2, when Todd Ziele doubles home 2 runs in the 7th.
