Phillies and Robins combine to score 50 runs in a double header

On May 18, 1929 — At the Baker Bowl, the Brooklyn Robins outslug the Philadelphia Phillies for a 20 – 16 victory in the first game of a doubleheader. Babe Herman and Johnny Frederick each have five hits for Brooklyn. The Phillies win the second game, 8 – 6. Frederick scores eight runs in the doubleheader to set a major league record for most runs scored in two games. The teams combine for a record 50 runs in a doubleheader.
