Babe Adams scatters 11 hits in shutting out Boston Doves

On August 9, 1910 — at the South End Grounds, Pittsburgh Pirates Ace Babe Adams scatters 11 hits in shutting out Boston, 10 – 0.

The Pirates pound out 16 hits including Honus Wagner whi had 3 hits and a double. John Flynn hits his 4th homerun of the season.

Adams improved to 9-4 firing his second straight shutout.

The tough loss marks the beginning of the end for the Bucs, who have been playing above .500 and battling for first place in the NL Central: on July 29th, they will start an 11-game losing streak and tumble well out of contention.
