Baltimore Orioles outfielder Al Bumbry wins American League Rookie of the Year honors

On November 28, 1973 — Baltimore Orioles outfielder Al Bumbry beats out five other vote-getters to win American League Rookie of the Year honors. Bumbry played just 110 games.  He beat runner-up, Milwaukee Brewers 2B Pedro Garcia (15 HR, 67 runs, league-leading 32 doubles), 13.5-3 points. In ’73, Bumbry had 23 SB, 73 runs, .337 BA, .398 OBP, .500 Slg., & league-leading 11 triples.
