Bill Singer of the Los Angeles Dodgers fires a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies

On July 20, 1970, At Dodger Stadium, 26 year old Bill Singer pitches a 5-0 No-hitter over the Philadelphia Phillies. Singer strikeout 10 and walks no one, he does however commit 2 errors, and one of the errors was a slow roller hit by Don Money that got by Gold Glover Wes Parker. The Phillies felt it should have been a hit. Singer is the first pitcher for the Dodgers since Sandy Koufax to toss a no no. 

Singer, had spent 52 days on the DL with hepatitis. Singer came off the DL and in his 3rd start pitched 7 and 2/3 of hitless baseball against the Braves, Clete Boyer broke up the bid, the Dodgers won 7-0. Singer will go on to post a 5-0 record in July with a 1.84 ERS and be named pitched of the month. He will be lost for the season in August with a 8-6 record and 106 innings pitched.
