Notable Events and Chronology

Bob Tewksbury

An often-injured starter, Tewksbury was 9-5, 3.31 as a rookie in 1986, the only season since 1982 in which he did not spend time on the DL. He led the Florida State League in wins, ERA, and shutouts at Fort Lauderdale in 1982, but after only 29 starts for the Yankees was one of three players traded to the Cubs for Steve Trout. Tewksbury never won a game for Chicago.
