Bobby Doerr hits three home runs and drives in eight, while Walt Dropo and Ted Williams each slam two home runs.

The Previous day the Red Sox beat the Browns 20-4 with 23 hits. Boston’s two day totals set consecutive games records for hits and runs scored.
