By pitching 7 scoreless innings in a 7 – 0 win over the Braves, Doug Fister extends Washington’s streak of scoreless innings by its starting pitchers to a team record 41 1/3. It has been a group effort, with Joe Ross, Max Scherzer, Gio Gonzalez, Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmermann also making starts during the streak, which began in the 2nd inning of Ross’s start on June 19th, and included Scherzer’s no-hitter against the Pirates the next day.
