Derek Bryant becomes the first player to hit four home runs in a Mexican League game; he adds a triple for a record 19 total bases.
After trailing by eight runs, going into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Yankees rally to beat the Twins 9-8. Don Mattingly’s ninth inning two-out three-run walk-off home run at the Bronx ballpark is the finishing touch.

The Giants end a 24-inning scoring drought by scoring a run with two out in the 12th to beat Chicago, 1 – 0. Scott Garrelts is the winner over Warren Brusstar with four innings of relief.
Ryne Sandberg’s homer off Mike Krukow is the only score as Rick Sutcliffe and the Cubs beat the Giants, 1 – 0.
Seattle’s Mike Moore no-hits the Rangers for eight innings, then is driven from the game on four hits in the 9th. But the Mariners hang on for a 4 – 2 victory.
