Joe Morgan of the Cincinnati Reds had held the previous record of 91 games. The streak ends vs the Houston Astros on an errant throw while Eric Anthony tried to beat out an infield hit. Ken Caminiti will take third on the play. Despite the error, the Cubs will win 7-0, Sanberg will go 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Sandberg will end up with 40 home runs for the season and finish 4th in MVP voting.
