On July 4, 2015 — Cincinnati rookie hurler Josh Smith ties a 108 year-old Reds record when he plunks Aramis Ramirez, Jean Segura, Gerardo Parra, and Carlos Gomez in the team’s 7-4 loss against Milwaukee at the Great American Ball Park. The last pitcher to hit four batters in a game was Nationals’ right-hander Livan Hernandez, who accomplished the dubious feat in 2005 against Colorado.
