he Philadelphia Phillies become the eleventh team in baseball history to throw a combined no-hitter

On September 1, 2014 — At Turner Field The Philadelphia Phillies become the eleventh team in baseball history to throw a combined no-hitter when four of their hurlers do not yield a hit in the team’s 7-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves

Cole Hamels of the Phillies combines with three relievers, Jake Diekman, Ken Giles and Jonathan Papelbon to complete the rare feat. Hamels needs 108 pitches to get through the first 6 innings, allowing 5 walks and striking out 7, then each reliever pitches a perfect inning to complete the feat, with Giles striking out all three batters he faces in the 8th.
