On January 11, 2019 — Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom reaches a one-year deal with the Mets for $17 million. The $9.6 million raise is the largest ever for a player eligible for salary arbitration. DeGrom will repeat as the Cy Young award winner in 2020 when goes 11-8 with 255 strikeouts.
