On May 3, 1998 — Dan Wilson hits the first inside-the-park grand slam in the history of the Mariners. The backstop’s first-inning bases-full round-tripper proves to be the difference in the M’s 10-6 victory over Detroit at the Kingdome.

Wilson’s historic homerun came with 2 outs, Alex Rodriguez, Edgar Martinez and David Segui were on base, and the shot was hit off Frank Castillo.  Seattle will put up 5 more in the second inning, allowing Randy Johnson to cruise to his second win of the season.
