Biography

The swarthy forkballer won 8 and saved 12 with a 1.98 ERA for the Mets in 1971, his best year. He had 57 saves in his career, and was coming off a strong five-win, nine-save season with the Brewers when he was killed in a dune buggy accident on New Year’s Day, 1977.
