David Cone sets a new major league record for the most years between 20-win seasons when New York beats Devil Rays at Yankee Stadium, 3-1. The 33 year-old Coney, who was 20-3 in 1988 with the Mets, surpasses the mark set by Jim Kaat, who won twenty in 1966 and 1974.
