On February 13 1987 –Detroit Tigers pitcher Jack Morris is awarded a $1.85 million salary by arbitrator Richard Bloch, the highest amount awarded to date through the salary arbitration process.

Morris will go 18-11 and finish 9th in Cy Young Award, he will help the Tigers will dramatically win the AL East.
