On August 28, 1990 â Ellis Burks becomes only the second Red Sox player to hit two home runs in the same inning when he goes deep twice in Bostonâs eight-run fourth frame during the teamâs 12-4 rout of the Tribe at Cleveland Stadium. In 1928, second baseman Bill Regan became the first BoSox player to accomplish the feat when he homered twice, including an inside-the-park round-tripper, in the top of the fourth inning against Chicago at Comiskey Park.
