Benny Kauff was the best hitter in the Federal League and, 115 years ago this week, got the chance to prove he was the best in baseball, when he signed with the Giants. His baseball career came to an abrupt end, however, 99 years ago this week, when an appellate court upheld Commissioner Landis’s right to ban him for life. Mike and Bill take on Kauff’s meteoric rise and fall, and come away with more questions than they started with. Plus, happy birthday to Camilo Pascual! And Mike talks about Chili Davis.
