On October 16, 1990 — In Game 1 of the World Series, Eric Davis becomes the 22nd player in Series history to hit a home run in his first World Series at-bat. His 2 run blast comes off Dave Stewart, the Cincinnati Reds go on to rout the Oakland Athletics, 7 – 0, ending Oakland’s ten-game postseason winning streak.
