Ervin Santana, facing only two hitters over the minimum, no-hits the Indians at Progressive Field, 3-1

On July 27, 2011 — At Progressive Field, Ervin Santana of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim throws a no-hitter in beating the Indians, 3 – 1. Ezequiel Carrera, the Indians’ first batter of the game, reaches on an error by SS Erick Aybar and comes in to score on a wild pitch, but Santana settles down and retires 22 batters in a row on his way to the feat. It was the first no-hitter for the Angels since Mark Langston and Mike Witt joined their efforts to throw one on April 11, 1990.
