For the second consecutive day, a Browns’ hurler throws a no-hitter when Bob Groom keeps the White Sox hitless

On May 6, 1917 — St Louis Browns’ hurler Bob Groom throws a no-hitter, he duplicates teammate Ernie Koob’s feat of the previous day when he beat the White Sox 1-0, the Brownies beat the White Sox 3-0 victory in the nightcap of a double header. The 32 year-old right-hander also pitched two hitless innings in the first game of the twin bill, earning a save in the Sportsman’s Park contest.
