On June 4 1897 — For the second time in four days‚ manager Patsy Donovan’s aggressive tactics cost the Pirates a game by forfeit. With the weather threatening in the 4th inning‚ the Pirates stall egregiously hoping for a rainout‚ until umpire Jim McDonald declares a forfeit.
