The game is the Giants’ largest shutout win in modern times, breaking their previous record‚ 16 – 0‚ set on July 3‚ 1949‚ against the Dodgers; the previous San Francisco record was 14 – 0‚ against the Reds‚ on August 23‚ 1961. Their all-time record is a 24 – 0 win against the Buffalo Bisons‚ on May 27‚ 1885. On the other side‚ the game is also the worst shutout loss in Expos history‚ breaking the record of 16 – 0‚ set against the Cardinals‚ on August 11‚ 1980.
