On December 14, 1933 — Goose Goslin of the Washington Senators is sent to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for John Stone.

Goslin (HOF) would finish in major league career back in Washington in 1938 and in 1939 would be named playing manager of the Trenton (NJ) Senators.John Stone would be a Washington regular until 1938 when mid-way thru the season he would be diagnosed with TB and forced to retire due to his health, He had been an outstanding player for Washington with a career batting average of .310 including seasons of .315, .314, .341, .342 playing for the Nationals/Senators.
