Hank Aaron hits only the 3rd homersun into centerfield bleachers at the polo grounds

June 18, 1962 – Henry Aaron belted a grand slam into the centerfield bleachers in the Polo Grounds, just the third home run that landed there since the park was remodeled in 1923. The Braves beat the Mets, 7-1.

“I hit one ball harder in my life but I never hit one longer” said Aaron after his 465-foot grand-slam homer into the left-center field bleachers at New York’s Polo Grounds led the Milwaukee Braves to a 7-1 victory over the New York Mets “I’ve had some trouble getting started this season but maybe I’m on my way now” Aaron’s soaring drive off Jay Hook was only the second ball ever hit into the left center field bleachers in the modern history of the park Milwaukee teammate Joe Adcock hit the first in 1953 and Babe Ruth is credited with having reached that sector twice in 1921 when the wall was about 30 feet closer to home plate.
