On August 18, 1965 — After hitting Curt Simmon’s pitch on top of the pavilion at Busch Stadium, Atlanta Braves outfielder Hank Aaron is denied a homer when Home plate Umpire Chris Pelekoudas calls him out. The home plate umpire’s decision is influenced by St Louis Cardinal catcher Tim McCarver, who is jumping up and down, insisting the eventual home champion had stepped out of the batter’s box.
