On September 15, 1998 — In a 12-7 win over the Twins, Mariner Ken Griffey Jr. becomes the fourth-youngest (28 years and 10 months) player to reach 1,000 RBIs. Junior got to the 1,000 mark younger than anyone except Mel Ott (27 years, three months), Jimmie Foxx (27 years, eight months), and Lou Gehrig (28 years, 9 1/2 months).
