It was also the first time 41 outs took place before the first hit since Sandy Koufax’s no-hitter versus Bob Hendley’s one-hitter in September 1965. Lilly is removed from the game immediately after surrendering the hit, clinging to 1 – 0 lead; Carlos Marmol loads the bases, but escapes the jam and the score holds. The only run of the game is scored when Chad Tracy follows Soriano’s double with a single.
