On July 30, 1976 — In an International League game in Memphis, TN, the Blues’ Art Gardner hits a 3rd-inning shot off the CF wall and, while Syracuse OF Rick Bladt searches for the ball, Gardner circles the bases for an inside-the-park home run. When Bladt can’t find the ball, the umpires rule the hit is only a double.
