The third game was game 2 of a doubleheader and the Red Sox behind Smoky Joe Wood (who improves to 10-2) top the White Sox, 6 – 2, White Sox Ace Red Faber drops to 16-7, the Red Sox move back into first place. Wood not only stared on the mound but went two to three and bring his average up to .324. Duffy Lewis and Tris speaker also drove in runs the Red Sox.
