On September 4, 2002 — In front of 55,528 fans at the Coliseum, the A’s set an American League record by extending their winning streak to 20 consecutive games. After blowing an 11-run lead to the Royals, Scott Hatteberg hits a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving Oakland the historic victory, 12-11.
