In his next at bat, the ‘Splendid Splinter’ homers off the Washington starter to begin the fourth inning, which will prove to be the difference in Boston’s 2-1 victory over Washington.

In his next at bat, the ‘Splendid Splinter’ homers off the Washington starter to begin the fourth inning, which will prove to be the difference in Boston’s 2-1 victory over Washington.

Williams holds the 20th Century record. For 50 years, it is believed to be the all-time record but research in 2007 will show a 17-appearance streak by Piggy Ward in 1893.
