The only other Met who accomplished the feat is the team’s current third base coach Tim Teufel, who went yard off the bench with the bases loaded in 1986 against Philadelphia.

For the third time in major league history a team blows a seven-run lead twice in a week. The Houston Astros lose a 7 – 0 advantage at home against Philadelphia after blowing a 9 – 2 lead in the 9th inning at Milwaukee two days earlier. The Astros also lose CF Roger Cedeno who breaks two bones in his right hand and will miss two months.

May 24, 2000

1983 – The Dodgers trade pitchers Dave Stewart and Ricky Wright to Texas for star pitcher Rick Honeycutt, who is 14-8 with an American League-best 2.42 ERA for the Rangers. Honeycutt will go 2-3 down the stretch for the Dodgers, but still wins the AL ERA title because his 174 2/3 innings pitched were already enough to qualify.
