Jack Coombs becomes the first pitcher to win a World Series game in both leagues

Jack Coombs was the first pitcher to win a World Series game in each league. Coombs won 3 games in the 1910 World Series pitching 3 complete games on October 18, 20 and 23 vs Chicago, he beat Mordecai Brown twice.

He also won game 3 in 1911 beating Christy Mathewson and had a no decision in game 5.  The A’s win both series.

Game 3 of the World Series October 10, 1916 Brooklyn Robins vs Boston Red Sox. Coombs won 4-3.

Coombs was 5-0 in 6 World Series starts.
