On August 28, 1991 — Jim Eppard of the Salinas Spurs of the California League plays all nine positions as the Spurs defeat the San Bernardino Spirit, 2 – 1. Eppard gets credit for the win by pitching a scoreless 5th inning. The former California Angels OF becomes one of the few left-handers to play every position in a single game.
