Jimmy Wynn collects his first hit

July 10, 1963 at Forbes Field, Houston Astro Rookie Jim Wynn makes his debut, after flying out the first three at bats he singles in the 9th inning off Bob Friend. Wynn debuted at Short Stop, will play his first 13 games at short and will move to the outfield and after the 1963 season never play another game in the infield.

The Astros will win, 2-0 behind Ken Johnson, and Wynn will go on to be one the best players in franchise history.
