On May 23, 1962 — At Yankee Stadium, Joe Pepitone of the New York Yankees hits two home runs in the nine-run 8th-inning of the Yankees’ 13 – 7 triumph over the Kansas City Athletics.

Pepitone homered off Dan Pfister to lead off the bottom of the 8th, and he hits a 3 run, 2 outs homerun off John Wyatt to close out the scoring.  Pepitone, drives in 4, and 3 more including another homerun in tomorrow’s game vs the A’s. The Yankee’s rookie will only hit 2 more home runs for the eventual World Champs.
