On July 5, 1998 — Juan Gonzalez becomes the second player in major league history to go over the 100 RBI mark before the All-Star Game. The Rangers designated hitter’s major league-leading total of 101 RBIs is second only to Tiger slugger Hank Greenberg, who had 103 in 1935 and finished the season with 170.
