12.22.1954 – Sandy Koufax (18 years old) posing with Dodger Scout Alex Campanis (L), and Dodger VP Fresco Thompson, after being signed as a $20,000 bonus player. Koufax played sandlot ball for the Parkviews in Brooklyn and attracted wide attention as a pitcher at the University of Cincinnati. Last year he hurled for the freshman team and fanned 34 batters in two consecutive games. His final record there was 4-0 and he struck out 58 batters in 30 innings”

12.14.1954 – Koufax was officially signed on for a 2-year K at $6,000 for the 1955 season plus a $14,000 signing bonus
