VINTAGE BASEBALL MEMORABILIA
On July 22, 1966, At Yankee Stadium pitching in relief for the California Angels, Lew Burdette earned his 200th career victory. The Angels scored two runs in the top of the ninth to defeat the Yankees 6-4. Burdette hurled the final two innings in Yankee Stadium, allowing just one hit in the 8th and pitched a clean 9th. Burdette came up in the Yankee system and was traded to the Braves for Johnny Sain and he also won 3 games against his former team in the 1957 World Series.
The big blow was a Tom Satriano triple scoring Buck Rogers and Rick Reichardt off future famed author Jim Boutun who will take the loss.
