November 6, 1938 – Mack Jones was born in Atlanta. On July 13, 1961, he tied a National League record by getting four hits in his first major league game. The game was played in Busch Stadium and Bob Gibson started for the Cardinals. He was also one of six Milwaukee Braves to have 20 or more homers in 1965. The Braves will win his debut game 6-3.
Jones will have a 10 year career hitting 133 homeruns, and had a career-high 79 RBI’s and .270 BA with the expansion Expos in 1969
