On April 26, 1905, At Exposition Park, 36 year old  Chicago Cubs outfielder Jack McCarthy throws out three runners at home plate, each time completing a double play, during a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. McCarthy becomes only the second outfielder in major league history to record three double plays in a single game.
